• Sylvan SF

    Sylvan SF

This furniture designer/manufacturer was producing exquisite designs in Indonesia for a limited number of retail accounts in Southern California and several other markets. Working with their LA-based management office we created for them a national trade showroom network that included representation in key venues in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Miami, Denver and Dallas.

In addition, we developed ongoing coverage for their designs that included pieces featured in Interior Design, House Beautiful, Elle Décor, The Robb Report, Veranda, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, Angelino, California Home & Design, and many other print and online publications.

In mid-2010 owner Sylvan Fiss decided to dissolve the business.

  • HBF

This is a terrific forward-thinking business furniture company that had, here-to-fore, gotten coverage mostly in a few primary trade publications. When they introduced a new collection by international design star Yves Behar of San Francisco’s fuseproject, the collection was launched at ICFF and later at NeoCon. Through our efforts, as one HBF executive put it, “We have never had this much attention before.” For one thing, we promoted the collection’s “cross over” appeal and so created interest among key consumer pubs as well as all of the trades. Following is a partial list of print, broadcast and online coverage obtained for C

Collection and other new HBF introductions:

Interior Design, InteriorDesign.com, Interior Design TV
Business Week TV – national syndication
ID Magazine (Best of Year issue)
    Best of NeoCon
    NeoCon Show Daily (cover story)
    Architectural Record
    Cottages & Gardens
    The San Francisco Chronicle
    Apartment Therapy
    House and Design
    Pure Contemporary
    Design Boom

    Grow House Grow

Based in Brooklyn, wallcovering designer Katie Deedy produces a unique line of narrative-based creations for the residential market. Beyond showing her designs at local shows, she had little promotional exposure for her work. On a limited special project contract we introduced her to a wide range of editors and publications resulting in spectacular coverage in such publications as Interior Design Magazine, House Beautiful, Design Therapy, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, Time Out, Apartment Therapy, and New York Magazine.

    Doug Wilson - Doug’s Rooms

When it came time for TV designer Doug Wilson to do his first book we took the project to Clarkson N. Potter, where it was immediately accepted with an extraordinary advance. We then arranged for agent Alice Martell to negotiate the contract and set Doug up with a writer and photographer to work with him on the project. The result was a first rate soft cover book primed for just the kind of mass market distribution that Doug and the publisher were aiming.

    D’Aquino Monaco

When Carl D’Aquino began working with Strohl & Company as Carl D’Aquino Interiors he had a group of superbly photographed projects but none of the media coverage and recognition the firm so richly deserved. Over the years and particularly with the advent of Mr. D’Aquino’s partnership with Francine Monaco, and the founding of D’Aquino Monaco, Strohl & Company has developed a steady succession of major media features and honors for the firm. Highlights include:
